About me:
I started wakeboarding in 2003 at the Lido Almere in the Netherlands. It was a schoolsports-project which got me to the Lido Almere. After a few times my interest for wakeboarding was growing, and my parents bought my first wakeboard.
I won my first Dutch Cable title as a boy in the early 2000’s. Now almost six years later I became the EAME Worldchampion in Anapa / Russia. In those six years I lost a few competitions but I won a lot. 2008 was a special year, not just cause of becoming world champion, but competing at the WWA Worldcup and the Worldcup in Camsur for the first time as well. It was a great year for me, beeing 2nd in the Overall after Tom, who had a really great year.
2009, I started again on the podium at the WWA Worldcup in Camsur. This is again a great start for this years season. I hope I’ll stay as consistent as 2008. That’s my goal. Also a highlight for me is being a rider of the Hyperlite World Cable Team with Nick, Donald and Lior.
Being at the top of the rankings, with my great team inspires me in wakeboarding,.
I travel a lot , and hope to see many more from the world. This year i’m travelling to the USA for the first time. I’m dreaming of that for many years now. Finally it’s happening in june when I’m riding at the WWA Worldcup in Orlando.
At home in Almere my family understand why I spend so much time wakeboarding. They support me in any way they can. I think that’s one of the most important things for a rider when he is supported by his family.
Finally I want to thank my sponsors, who are taking care of me. Thanks to Nutcase Helmets, Hyperlite, Mystic Boardwear and Lido Almere.
