Hobbies: I love listening to music and reading while I am travelling and I am always keen to watch wildlife too

Sports: For now it’s all about boats and bikes and I am looking forward to getting stuck into some hiking when I am based in the mountains this winter

Music: Stornoway, Kris Drever, Laura Marling - I am into lots of folkey stuff at the moment

Why I am away on expedition:
I dreamed up this expedition while on my last one in 2009, rowing between Australia and Mauritius across the Indian Ocean. I love travelling under my own power and the way that you are a part of a landscape when cycling, kayaking and rowing. Having crossed an ocean I decided I wanted to take in continents too - and so London2London:Via the World’ was born. I hope to be home in late 2013.
